Every Kind of Lock Job, Home to Storefront
Lock Repairs
Lockouts, rekeying, broken keys pulled out of the cylinder, and worn cylinders, mortise sets and storm door hardware put right. A lot of older Columbus doors still carry their original mortise locks, and most of those can be repaired rather than replaced.

Installations & Replacements
New deadbolts, keypad and smart locks, replacement knobs and levers, and commercial exit devices. We also set up master key systems for small offices and rental properties, so one key opens what it should and nothing more.

Maintenance & Inspections
Cleaning and lubricating aging locks, adjusting strike plates and hinges on doors that have shifted, and checking hardware before the season turns. Freeze and thaw move wood frames around, and a small adjustment now beats a lockout later.

- SpringWet spring air swells wood doors. If a latch starts to drag, snug up the hinge screws before you force the key.
- SummerHumid days can make a door rub at the top corner, and a door that rubs will soon pull its bolt off the strike.
- AutumnBefore the first hard freeze, work a dry lubricant into outside cylinders and check that every deadbolt throws all the way.
- WinterA frozen lock wants a warmed key, never hot water poured in the keyway, which only refreezes deeper inside.
Reviews From Around Columbus
Locked out on a Sunday morning after I'd already tried every window. Darnell still came out on the weekend and showed up within the time he gave me.
Our front deadbolt had gotten really stiff and the key would barely turn. The tech from Seton took it apart, found the cylinder was worn and replaced it with a new one keyed to match our back door. He explained what was wrong in plain terms. Works smooth now. Only note is scheduling took a couple calls to get through. But the tech was great.
We bought a house and realized we had no idea who still had keys. Called the next day and the tech came out that afternoon, rekeyed every exterior door and the garage entry so they all use one key. Professional and we sleep a lot better now knowing nobody else can walk in.
They put smart locks on our front and side doors and swapped the old handles. The side door used to need a slam to latch and now it just clicks shut, which I didn't even ask them to fix. Cleaned up after themselves too. Done right when they said. We'll call them again.
Fresh From the Van
A few recent jobs: new deadbolts, a rekeyed lock, a sticking latch on a steel door and a lock box on a steel back door.
Questions Folks Ask Us
Can you rekey our locks instead of replacing them?
Usually, yes. Rekeying changes the pins inside the cylinder so the old keys stop working, and the lock itself stays on the door. It’s the usual move after buying a house or when you’re not sure who still has a key. If the lock is worn out or broken, a replacement is the better fix.
Do you work on the old mortise locks in German Village and Victorian Village houses?
Yes. Worn mortise sets are regular work for us. Many of those old locks can be cleaned, adjusted and put right rather than swapped for a modern lock, which keeps the original hardware on a door that has been rehung more than once.
My door won’t latch since the cold weather came. Is the lock broken?
Often it’s the door, not the lock. Ohio’s freeze and thaw cycles swell and shrink wood frames, so the latch and the bolt stop lining up with their strikes. Adjusting the strike plate or the hinges usually brings them back in line.
What changes the cost of a lock job?
Mostly the kind of lock and its grade, how many doors are involved, whether a lock can be rekeyed or has to be replaced, the condition of the door, and how urgent the call is. A car key job also depends on the make and the key technology.
I’m locked out right now. What should I do?
Call us and tell us where you are and what happened. If a child or a pet is shut in a car on a hot or cold day, call 911 first.
